Association of Community Based Business Advice (ACBBA), UK

The Association of Community Based Business Advice (ACBBA) works with communities to develop enterprise. Starting from the evidence that communities who have experienced social exclusion are entrepreneurial, ACBBA's primary business is to assist communities to develop and sustain business support activities so that they can offer high quality business support to trading businesses and new start businesses.

ACBBA offers community organisations unique, effective and attractive products, a rich experience which enables a flexible approach, a team of talented and qualified people and the opportunity to develop new networks to assist and sustain business support.

ACBBA offers its members contract management to ensure a high quality of delivery, opportunities to share experience and knowledge of work with entrepreneurs, continuous professional development through workshops and coaching, and the provision of information to assist members to achieve the best possible standard of work for their business clients. Additionally ACBBA carries out a representational role to gain support for the concept of business advice rooted at a community level.

ACBBA through its consultancy work develops and delivers pilot programmes commissioned to explore new areas of work which promote social inclusion through enterprise, provides training programmes to promote enterprise development as a poverty reduction strategy, develops new business to business networks and undertakes small scale research projects to provide information about enterprise development in communities which experience social exclusion.
