Founded in 1995 as a non-profit organization, iq consult specialises in developing and realising pilot initiatives in the field of start-up support and cultural industries together with public and private actors.

Key elements of the iq consult portfolio are:

• project development and project management services for public institutions and private foundations
• individual support for disadvantaged business starters through advice, targeted coaching and training programs,
• problem-oriented facilitation and supervising services.

Against this background, iq consult has developed and accompanied a series of projects in non-profit and culture-related business sectors. A number of them have turned into stable organisations and businesses, who are still part of the iq consult business network.

Since 1999, iq consult puts a special focus on the development of the German entrepreneurial support and microfinance sector. iq consult operates in the European and international context and engages in a transnational knowledge exchange on small business start-up support, microfinance and regional cultural development with EU institutions, municipalities, universities, economic development agencies and private associations.

For his commitment to social change, Norbert Kunz, Founder and Executive Director of iq consult, has been awarded the title of „Social Entrepreneur 2007" by the international organisation ASHOKA in November 2007.
